About the project

Created to support the preschool education program of the Ministry of Education of Chile, Juan and Sofi is a series of five apps that introduce kids aged 4-6 to basic concepts of arithmetic, time, and space in everyday life situations through the story of two siblings, Juan and Sofi.

‍

In Let's sort by size, Juan and Sofi help children learn the similarities and differences between elements through comparison, classification, and serialization of objects in ascending and descending order.

‍

In 2013, the Chilean government selected Juan and Sofi to be available on 3,000+ tablets in schools nationwide.

‍

Storytelling approach
Kids interact with characters, objects, and situations that are culturally meaningful, creating an emotional connection that sparks curiosity and encourages active learning.

Interactive exercises
Children identify small, medium, and large cubes and sort them from smallest to largest and from largest to smallest.
Facilitation features
Every exercise includes visual examples, written and audio instructions, and voice feedback that encourages and praises children’s progress.
Pedagogical content
This app aligns with the Ministry of Education of Chile's NT1 and NT2 programs for logical-mathematical relations and quantification, and has a guide for parents and teachers.
